For example, this will happen when installing x64 driver on x86 operating system. * Limitation on printer search function Even when [Broadcast] is used to search for printer in the [Printer Search] dialog box, which appears when [Get Information from Printer] or [Status] is selected, printer search may fail. When this happened, select [Specify Address] to implement the printer search may resolve this problem. * Limitations for combination use of [Print in Reverse Order] and other features The following features cannot be used if [Print in Reverse Order] is specified. - Specify Job Owner Name - Secure Print / Sample Set - Document Monitor - Banner Sheet If the above-mentioned features were specified concurrently with [Print in Reverse Order], secure print may malfunction, causing the print job to be printed as normal job. * For shared printers If the client of the shared printer is using an operating system not supported by this driver, an alternative driver for the respective operating system is required. Please ensure that the alternative driver has the same driver version as this driver. If the versions are different, the alternative driver may not be able to install. This driver cannot be used if the clients of the shared printer are using the following operating systems. - Windows XP version that is below SP2 - windows Server 2003 version that is below SP1 If the shared printer is installed on these client operating system, you may not be able to access Properties from the printer folder. * Notes on using Negative Image feature for printing When Negative Image function is used to print portrait originals in 2 Up or 6 Up setting, the printout may not be printed correctly. *For color device, Negative Image function is not available. * Notes on using Image Rotation 180 Degrees When margins are set up on the server properties and [Image Rotation 180 Degrees] is specified, print position may not be printed correctly. * Limitations on user-defined size When user-defined size is used and the displayed width and height are set to the minimum (or maximum) value, the print job may not be printed properly. Paper sizes that exceed the limit of the user-defined size (there may be slight deviation due to unit conversion) may not be printed properly. * Notes on paper sizes When applications that enable paper specification, such as Microsoft Word, are used, please ensure that the same paper size is specified on the application and the driver. * Limitations concerning 2-Sided Printing If you are printing documents with odd-number of pages, a blank page may be added to the last page depending on the settings of the operating system (referred to as "OS" hereinafter). Summon the Properties dialog box from the printer icon and deselect the [Enable advanced printing features] in the [Advanced] tab. This will prevent the printer from adding blank paper to the printout. However, please take note that once this check box is unchecked, Reverse Printing and Booklet Printing will become unavailable. In addition, some application software will automatically insert blank sheet for page adjustment according to the condition for specifying print quantities. As this behavior is a specification of the application software, it is not possible to configure this driver or the device to prevent blank sheet from being inserted to the printout. The target device will print the data as it is received after it is edited and printed from the client's side according to the operating system or application software specification. If the document data to be printed consist of blank-sheet data inserted by the operating system or application software, this blank sheet will be counted as part of the print data. * Limitation when printing black and white document Depending on the application program, black and white document may be printed in color as black can be output in process black (C=M=Y). To prevent this, it is recommended to set [Output Color] to [Black and White] when printing black and white documents. * Co-existing with the MSPScript driver bundled with the operating system When both FX Plug-in driver and MSPScript driver bundled with the operating system were used to install printer of the same model, the driver installed most recently will overwrite the previously installed driver, even if the printer icon name is different. If you have accidentally installed a MSPScript driver bundled with the operating system, please install the FX Plug-in driver again. * Limitation on PostScript Output Options (1) When [EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)] is selected under PostScript Output Options, print settings such as paper tray, output method, copies may become invalid. Please do not use this for printing. * Limitation on PostScript Output Options (2) When [Archive Format] is selected for PostScript Output Options, the print job may not be printed properly. Please use it to print to file only. * Notes on Output Color When setting other than [ICM Disabled] is selected for [ICM Method] in [Advanced Settings] tab, such as when ICC profile is applied on the print driver, printing in black-and-white mode will fail. To print in black-and-white mode using print driver with ICC profile applied, please set [ICM Method] in [Advanced Settings] tab to [ICM Disabled]. * Limitation on the font used Problem with garbled characters may occur depending on your application and font used. In this case, change the setting for [TrueType Fonts Download Options] to [Outline] or [Bitmap] may solve the problem. * Limitations on remote installation When remote installation is executed for Windows Vista or later operating system, driver installation may not end properly. In this case, please perform remote installation from Windows XP. * LPR connection In [Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard], when the dialog box showing [Additional Port Information Required] is displayed, please select a corresponding printer for [Standard] in [Device Type]. * Notes on Standard TCP/IP Port When document fails to print in some applications, select [LPR Byte Counting Enabled] check box in [Configure Standard TCP/ IP Port Monitor] may solve the problem. * Notes and limitations on certain applications - Limitation for Adobe PageMaker (1) TrueType fonts may not be printed properly in Adobe PageMaker. In this case, please select [Photos] or [Design] in [Color Options] to print. - Limitations on DocuWorks Viewer Light The paper size specified on the driver will not be reflected, instead DocuWorks document paper size will be used. - Limitations in CorelDRAW (1) When the patterns in CorelDRAW appear different in print and on screen, changing [Print Mode] in [Color Setup] tab may improve this condition. - Limitations in CorelDRAW (2) When printing in CorelDRAW, the printout may be rotated 90 degrees. In this case, select [Use PPD] check box in the [General] tab in CorelDRAW's Print dialog box, and specify the PPD file for the device model used. You can download the PPD file from our company's website or from the driver CD-ROM. When using the CD-ROM, use PPD file referring to the folder named for your product under "F:\English\WinPPD\". In this example, F drive is used as the CD-ROM drive. If you are using another drive for CD-ROMs, specify accordingly.
